Illinois Storyteller Profile
|Bio:||Crooked Door Storytelling's goal is to help students and professionals use storytelling to teach valuable lessons about how we live together and with the world, and to strengthen oral, visual and written literacies and communication skills. |
As a CPS vendor-approved teaching artist, I engage students, educators, community-based programs and professionals by: sharing stories from myriad global perspectives that captivate listeners and support learning; helping individuals strengthen and appreciate their unique voices and experiences, and improving participants' abilities to communicate clearly in multiple ways through oral story.
I have brought my programs and stories to schools, museums, festivals and summer programs throughout the country (please see website for more information). I am engaged in my own ongoing professional development via workshops and am a member of: Teaching Artist Development Studio 2015 cohort; Northlands Storytelling Network; National Storytelling Network; Youth, Educators and Storytellers (YES!) Alliance, and Storytelling in Organizations (SIO).
