Syd Lieberman is an internationally acclaimed storyteller who has won commissions to write and perform historical pieces for the Smithsonian Institution and Johnstown, Pennsylvania. In 2002, Syd will be one of six American storytellers featured in a PBS storytelling special. His seven audio cassettes of family stories, Jewish tales, ghost tales, and historical works have garnered awards from the American Library Association as well as Parents' Choice. Syd's career as a classroom English teacher won him a prestigious Golden Apple award from the Golden Apple Foundation of Chicago. Syd has also taught storytelling to teachers at the Kennedy Center and to writers and directors at Disney World. In 2000, the National Storytelling Association inducted Syd into their Circle of Excellence.
