ASE: The Chicago Association of Black Storytellers
ASE members meet every second Sunday at Christ the Mediator Church, 31st and Calumet, Chicago from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. We share stories, plan events, and discuss the business of storytelling. Come out and join us on our storytelling months of April, August and December (stories start at 4:00 pm). The December meeting may be at a different location. Prairie Wind Guild - Tellers of Sacred Stories

Prairie Wind Guild is a group of folks in the Chicago-Northern Illinois-Lake Michigan area who are passionate about learning by heart and telling sacred stories. Prairie Wind Guild is affiliated with the Network of Biblical Storytellers International. We’re planning six meetings in the coming year, in two different formats. There will be three “Events” with teaching, enrichment workshops and an Epic Telling, and three “Sharing Workshops” where participants can practice stories they are working on, and can coach one another. www.prairiewindguild.org/

"Tell Me a Story" Guild

meets the last Friday of each month at 1:00 pm at Café Book, 395 Lake Street, Antioch, IL

Rene Bushelle and Sara Stephens have organized the guild, and newcomers are encouraged to join. If you wish to tell a story, contact Rene at rene.thomas82@gmail.com or 847-715-6091. Rene and Sara are seasoned storytellers, with experience in writing, public relations, broadcasting, and college teaching. Rene has traveled extensively, having lived in 5 different countries, and traveled to 22 additional countries. Rene speaks Spanish. In addition to storytelling, Sara offers enactments of famous authors.
