Finally found your voice but afraid to use it?
Fun, frolicky or somber and serene, bilingual storyteller/percussionist Mama Edie McLoud Armstrong guides audiences of all ages on a journey to find peace, power and joy within themselves. During monolingual performances or while “seamlessly blending stories in Spanish and English…” (as many have said), Mama Edie welcomes audiences to broaden their imaginations to create the world that they would rather see; to embrace the multicultural richness within it; and love it. Folktales and personal or historical stories of social justice invite audiences to see with new sight and to not be afraid. As a speech/language pathologist, Mama Edie’s language program “Crack the Code!” teaches children (AND ADULTS) through storytelling to navigate between cultural dialects and Standard English without sacrificing dignity or cultural pride. Workshops, keynotes and residencies are created by request for educators, social workers, psychologists, speech pathologists and parenting organizations.
