Ursa holds an MA degree in Storytelling from East Tennessee State University. She tells traditional stories, personal stories, and neo-folk stories to all ages. Her primary focus is in fundraising. Ursa partners with school programs and small theatres to produce storytelling concerts that raise funds for operating budgets and salaries. Ursa also tells at schools and cabarets. Ursa also offers professional development for educators. Her “The ATU and You” PD session introduces educators to the Aarne Thompson Uther index, a tool they can use to craft original stories that support spiral review of difficult subjects. In this hands-on PD session, all educators leave with a one-week emergency sub plan. Ursa has told at venues including The Fox Valley Folk Festival, Shhhh Storytelling Speakeasy, Solo Arts Heal, As I Said, Let Me Tell You, Is This a Thing?, Pour One Out, Outspoken, This Much is True, and ASST and is set to appear at the 2025 St. Louis Storytelling Festival.
